Colecciones privadas

Hoy leí una interesante noticia. Se trata de que el famoso "Salvator Mundi" de Leonardo Da Vinci será revelado al público en el Louvre de Abu Dhabi el 18 de Septiembre. El museo había anunciado en Diciembre de 2017 que albergaría la obra maestra, después de que la comprase por 450'3 millones de dólares.

"Perdido y escondido durante muchos años en manos privadas, la obra maestra de Leonardo Da Vinci es ahora nuestro regalo para el Mundo", dijo el presidente del departamento de cultura y turismo de Abu Dhabi en un comunicado. "Pertenece a todos nosotros, quienes tendremos la oportunidad de presentarnos ante él y ser testigos del dominio de uno de los artistas más importantes de la Historia de la Vida".

Y es eso lo que me lleva a reflexionar si estoy a favor o no de las colecciones privadas, que obviamente son lícitas pero nos privan de poder conocer obras de arte que ni sabemos que se realizaron. Puedo decir que personalmente me parece horrible que determinadas piezas puedan ser objeto de compra privada, como es el caso de "Salvator Mundi", una obra maestra que pudo comprar el museo del Louvre pero que es parte de muchas otras maravillas que jamás verán la luz si así lo deciden sus propietarios.

¿Hasta qué punto debería ser lícito privar a la gente, que no tiene enormes cantidades de dinero. del conocimiento de estas piezas?, ¿ cuántas más obras de arte viven en el anonimato de una colección privada?, ¿ en algún momento seremos testigos de lo que se ha llegado a ofrecer al mundo artísticamente?.

Bien es cierto que los coleccionistas impulsan el mercado del arte y son fundamentales para el inicio de las carreras de los nuevos talentos y su labor es imprescindible. Quizá sería bueno que en el mundo del coleccionismo se regulase que obras de arte que deberían ser patrimonio de la humanidad no tuviesen un precio privado.

 And that is what leads me to reflect if I am in favor or not of private collections, which are obviously legal but deprive us of being able to know works of art that we do not even know were made. I can say that personally I find it horrible that certain pieces can be privately purchased, as is the case of "Salvator Mundi", a masterpiece that could buy the Louvre but is part of many other wonders that will never see the light if so decided by their owners.

 To what extent should it be lawful to deprive people that they do not have huge amounts of money? of the knowledge of these pieces ?, How many more works of art live in the anonymity of a private collection ?, At some point we will be witnesses of what has been offered to the world artistically ?.

 It is true that collectors promote the art market and are essential for the start of the careers of new talent and their work is essential. Perhaps it would be good if in the world of collecting it were regulated that works of art that should be the heritage of humanity did not have a private price.
